Hey! This week for my first blog post I wanted to write about a tool I've had for a while, trust and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to start out in this type of hobby. That tool being likely any DeWalt cordless circular saw but the one I specifically own is the 20-Volt MAX edition.

About a year or two ago when I first got the idea that I wanted to start doing some type of wood working, this tool was at the top of my list. It has many uses and would be a great first addition to my collection because of how versatile a circular saw can be. I noticed from my day job that a circular saw could do many different things and accomplish a wide vary tasks for me. For around $100 I couldn't go wrong.

I use and recommend this tool for things like salvaged wood or DIY type projects. Being more of a construction tool rather than one for fine woodworking, this is where it falters. It does it's job well but getting deeper into the hobby will require you to purchase more specialized tools. I believe I bought this when I was about 19 or 20 and think it would be a great gift idea for anyone just starting out.

The tool itself has a sleek and comfortable grip, is very light weight and has great maneuverability. The depth and angle setting are both very easy to adjust and use to get the proper cut you desire. The small allen key included to change the 6 1/2 inch blade is also a nice touch which fits right into the handle.

Overall this is a great tool for a beginner and even though I have distanced myself from the amount I use my circular saw now it is a very versatile piece of any shop.
