2019 Woodworkers Gift Guide

Christmas is just days away at this point and the woodworker on your list may not be the easiest person to buy for. Who knows what tools they have, which ones they need? This list is made up of just a few things that I have either been using and loving as of late or things that are on my list as well. I hope this can help and Merry Christmas!

Empire Combination Squares

I recently purchased the 6” combination square from Empire and I have loved being able to reach for it when needing to make small marks in the shop, usually for when I am crosscutting on the mitre saw.

Centre Finder

I also recently purchased a centre finder. This tool is especially handy for anyone who turns wood on a lathe. I have found it makes my pen turning process much quicker when I can find the centre of blanks this much faster.

Gator Microzip

The Microzip has been another life saver over the past couple months. It makes getting in to tight and awkward corners of pieces a breeze and comes with three different grits of sandpaper.

Starbond Premium Superglues

When i had first seen people using Starbond glues in their projects I wasn’t too sure of what it was. Ever since ordering a few for myself I won’t go back to my old ways. These glues easily fill cracks and voids in work pieces that could’ve easily ruined a project otherwise. I highly recommend getting the accelerator to go along with the glues as well.

King Canada Digital Angle Gauge

This gauge is really nice to have around the table saw. It gives you the ability to know for sure what angle your saw blade is at instead of having to use the built in gauge on the saw that I personally don’t trust nearly as much as something like this product.

Easy Wood Tools Rougher

This is the first and really only tool I have bought for my lathe since I started turning this year. The carbide tipped blades make turning very easy and I plan to buy other Easy Wood Tools products in the future. These seem to be great options for beginners.
